Cut Vanilla

These are the shorter vanilla pods, either 11 cm or less and can include some broken or split pods. They are still a naturally cured fresh pod, they can be drier and therefore lighter in colour than other grades with a moisture content of between 13 – 15 %. Alternatively, they can be just as supple and plump as the gourmet pods, the only difference is that they are broken or split.

This means, that depending on the grade, the texture can be moist and oily or dry and woody. Either way, the quality is ideal for the extraction process or for making vanilla powder and used in the food industry. The vanillin content can be a bit lower than other grades at 0,5 – 1,2 %.
